Peter Hammarstedt

One of the youngest icons of the conservation movement, Peter sailed the seven seas to counter illegal whaling, sealing and destructive fishing practices. As Director of Operations for Sea Shepherd and captain of the marine conservation vessel Bob Barker he set the world record for the longest maritime pursuit in history: he and his crew embarked on a 110 day chase of the Interpol-wanted poaching vessel Thunder, across three oceans and 10,000 nautical miles. He currently leads campaigns to stop pirate fishermen plundering marine wildlife in the Gulf of Guinea.
