Gábor Tímár
Geophysicist, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
Land degradation affects an area that's home to 1.5 billion people worldwide. But what will be the outcome of uncontrolled soil exploitation? Slowly but surely, is everything that is beautiful, fresh, and green to turn grey and dry – even in Hungary? To answer these questions, we turn to Gábor Tímár, a geophysicist from Eötvös Loránd University, who is not only an expert on soil physics, cartography and satellite measurements. After having taught in numerous countries worldwide, at the festival, he will help us understand desertification and share what we can do to preserve treasures like the Great Hungarian Plain.
If you’d like to meet him at the festival and ask your most burning questions, grab your ticket or if you’re a student or a teacher, sign up for a free pass.
