Brain Bar 1+1=3?

The central question of Brain Bar 2026: what makes a community more than the sum of its individuals?

Connecting with each other has never been easier, and living that connection deeply has perhaps never been harder. The more freely we shape our lives, the more our relationships thin out. We can choose everything, and we can let go of everything too: what we study, where and with whom we live, what we work on, what we believe in. Loneliness became the price of our freedom. So we asked: what if chasing more isn't the answer? What if community and commitment could give us greater freedom than an endless menu of options?

If that's true, if the future really does belong to communities, then there's a long list of questions we need to ask again:

  • Can we find real community if we're unwilling to give up anything of ourselves?
  • How do we commit when we experience the long term as a sacrifice?
  • Do lasting friendships still exist?
  • If knowledge increasingly comes from algorithms, what's left of learning together?

We're looking for the answers together, not from a single privileged viewpoint, but collectively, drawing in the widest possible range of intellectual communities.

This is the theme of Brain Bar 2026: How does 1+1=3? What makes a community more than the sum of its individuals?

This year we're doing something new too, welcoming Co-Creators, in the spirit of diversity and the power of community.

Co-Creators are Brain Bar's intellectual partners, who help shape the festival, bring in new perspectives, and carry the Brain Bar message in their own voice.

What they share: a living community, online or offline, where they're already shaping how we think about the future.

What's their role?

  • they raise new topics in the festival's programming
  • they speak in their own voice within the Brain Bar community

  • they build bridges between different fields and generations

Rapid Edu

Let's reframe learning: from pressure to perform, to experience.

Rapid Edu supports upper-primary and secondary school students and their parents through the most critical exam periods (entrance exams, school-leaving exams) and throughout the year. With our digital content and intensive programmes we don't just pass on knowledge, we redefine learning as a human experience, reducing stress and building confidence.

Our community is built on digitally active students and engaged parents alike, people looking for more than better grades: a more confident, more balanced learning experience.

Mindenségit!

Mindenségit! is a podcast on public life, science and culture, where we take apart the world's big questions with curiosity, scepticism and a human voice rather than sterile studio logic. We're interested in how society works, what we fear, what we believe in, and how science, technology, culture and the quality of human connection are changing. We're not selling finished answers, we're looking for good questions, often uncomfortable ones. In our co-creator project with Brain Bar we're taking that spirit into a live space: proper pub atmosphere, arguments, unexpected encounters. The goal is to make thinking about the future something we can do together and more freely, not only in expert panels. A little apocalyptic, a little funny, but deeply serious: very Mindenségit!

ZsugaZsonglőrök: A podcast about money

Investments, hard data and honest conversations about money, with none of the fluff.

Dániel Diószegi: "As a CFA-qualified finance professional, my profession is also my passion. I don't just study the financial world, I apply exactly what we talk about on the show in practice, with my own capital."

Ádám Sanyó: "I'm an early retiree (FIRE) driven by macroeconomics and a data-led mindset. I don't believe in gut feelings and market gossip: I look for the hard logic behind the numbers and the trends, so you can see the processes clearly too."
