Brain Bar Our Goodwill Partner: The Amigos for Children Foundation

This year’s festival will feature a very special participant: the Amigos for Children Foundation, which for more than ten years has been bringing joy, curiosity, and friendship into the daily lives of children in hospital care.

The organization’s story began in 2014, when Sára Forgács-Fábián and ten of her friends started visiting young patients at the Tűzoltó Street Children’s Clinic on a regular basis, supporting their recovery through play, language learning, and shared experiences. Their mission was simple but determined: “One day, let there be an Amigo beside every sick child.”

What began as a small group of friends has since grown into a nationwide movement: they now operate in six cities with more than two hundred volunteers, meeting children over a hundred times every month. The Amigos – mostly enthusiastic university students – teach languages, run arts and crafts activities, play, tell stories, and, most importantly, stand by the children as true friends. Their work brings not only knowledge and joy, but also courage and hope into hospital wards. Today, the Amigos for Children community is perhaps the most passionate volunteer team in the country: its members bring energy, smiles, and genuine attention to every single encounter.

Our audience has had the chance to meet Amigos several times - but this year, we are especially proud to welcome them as Brain Bar's goodwill partner. On site, you will have the chance to meet the Amigos in person, hear inspiring stories, and perhaps even be inspired yourself to join this exemplary initiative. The presence of the Amigos at the festival will bring hope and humanity – exactly what we believe gives our audience strength.
