Balázs Székely
Geophysicist, Remote Sensing Researcher
In 2022, an unprecedented drought was observed on the Great Hungarian Plain. What if this occurs again? And what if it happens more and more frequently? Balázs Székely, an ELTE lecturer who teaches at the Earth Sciences Center and is also involved in space science and satellite measurements related to soil, will shed light on this at Brain Bar. He’ll delve into the extent to which desertification, which globally leads to catastrophic consequences, could take hold in Hungary, and what changes we should make to safeguard our healthy soil and biodiversity.
