Dr. habil. Máté László Botos is an associate professor at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (PPKE BTK), head of the Institute of Economics, and head of the Department of Economics. The central themes of his research and teaching include comparative theories of civilisation, the pitfalls of European identity, and the crisis narratives surrounding the West and Europe. In his talk, he examines the demographic, cultural, and political challenges facing the continent from a historical and intellectual-historical perspective, seeking an answer to whether Europe's future is truly destined to become an open-air museum.
