Garett Jones

Econ Professor, Author of The Culture Transplant

Garett Jones is an economist, a professor at George Mason University, and a research fellow at the Mercatus Center. His research often tackles sensitive but data-driven questions about productivity, culture, and institutions. In his latest book, he argues that immigrants often bring entirely new ways of thinking about things like saving, trust, or the role of the government – and in doing so, they fundamentally shape the host country’s economy. At Brain Bar, he’ll dive into how this process unfolds, and why every country has a stake in exploring how migration could reshape it.
