It all began with a dusty zither on her grandfather's shelf. She set the instrument down on the floor, plucked a string, and the flow of the world gently froze around her, replaced by a cosy sense of home. That's how she stepped onto the path of endless discovery.
Helga "Helka" Debreczeni-Kis is a musician and music teacher who graduated in 2022 from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, majoring in zither, kobza, hurdy-gurdy, and folk violin. In 2017, she was a finalist on "Fölszállott a páva" (Hungary's folk-talent TV show), and as a musician, she has performed on stages in numerous countries, from Ireland through Kazakhstan all the way to Australia. An introverted, at times shy, yet creatively driven person, she has recently been trying her hand at illustration too, and learns something new every day.
