Miklós Antal
Ecological economist, Head of the New Vision Research Group at ELTE
Miklós Antal is an ecological economist and head of the MTA-ELTE Momentum New Vision Research Group. Originally trained as an engineer-physicist, he examines global systems and networks with the precision of the natural sciences, while approaching social and economic challenges through the lens of sustainability and human well-being. His research focuses in particular on the structural dependencies of modern consumer society, the effects of growth compulsion, and alternatives that increase systemic freedom — such as reduced working hours. A well-known and inspiring speaker, he draws on international experience (University of Leeds, CEU) to challenge audiences with provocative yet always scientifically rigorous questions about freedom and independence.
