Emese Takács
Mushroom Leather Designer
How does fungus become vegan leather? Does a bag made from this material really not tear? And will it not eat my afternoon snack that I keep in it? To answer these question, we have invited Emese Takács, a MOME fashion and textil design graduate to Brain Bar. Shortly after finishing school, she and her team started cultivating tinder fungus in Petri dishes to create a leather alternative that can be used for bags and furniture - thiis is how Fraxinea was born. Ever since then, the team has appeared on the Hungarian Shark Tank, and is still tirelessly working to become leaders in the leather alternative market with increasingly sustainable production.
