Veronika Hermann
Media Researcher, University Lecturer
What does nostalgia really give us – is it a creative resource or just an escape into the past? This is the question explored by a literary scholar, media historian and critic who earned her PhD at ELTE with a dissertation on language, identity and the rhetoric of nationalism in 19th and 20th century Hungarian literature. Today she is an assistant professor at ELTE’s Department of Media and Communication, teaches and publishes in both Hungarian and English, and edits the contemporary arts journal Balkon. On the Brain Bar stage she brings her expertise in media history, cultural memory and popular culture to The Great Nostalgia Debate.
